“Cinnamon-Teen Chocolate Figs & Roses”

The Central Kansas ThreadBenders Quilt Guild is a civic league in Great Bend, Kansas! We were organized in May 1983 with 45 members. We currently have 51 members. Our charity projects include making walker bags for orthopedic patients; fidget quilts for nursing homes, TLC quilts for local victims (Barton County and surrounding counties in Kansas) of disasters such as fires, floods, tornadoes, etc. We’ve also given quilts to fire and flood victims in northwest Kansas and Nebraska. We also occasionally provide quilts to our local Crisis Center for Domestic Violence victims.

Blocks are 15″ finished & 15 1/2″ unfinished

10 quilt blocks have been revealed as of today! There are only two more left (plus the finishing instructions) & then this year’s 2023 BOM quilt will be finished!

Kim Noblin designed this gorgeous BOM quilt! She was a beautiful person from the inside out! Her love of quilting shows throughout all of the quilts & quilt blocks that she designed! I am blessed to have called her my friend!

Greenery Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Greenery Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Green: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Dk. Green 4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. Once it is sewn together it will be the center of this quilt block.)
  • Lt. Green: Cut TWO (2) 6 3/8″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Green 6 3/8″ square which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles. Once they are sewn together they will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 6 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Lt. Green 6 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles. Once they are sewn together they will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ x 5″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Dk. Green/White Flying Geese.)
  • Dk. Green: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Lt. Green 4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. Once it is sewn together it will be the center of this quilt block.)
  • Dk. Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the White 6 3/8″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 6 3/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Dk. Green 3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
