On Cloud Nine: Cobra Quilt Block

Cobra Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Gold: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Rust 2 1/2″ squares. ONE (1) of these squares is the lower left-hand corner of this quilt block. Another ONE (1) of these squares is the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block. When all sewn together they’ll create a “frame” around the Cobras in the center of this quilt block.)
Gold: Cut ONE (1) 4 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create TWO (2) Flying Geese.)
Rust: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Gold 2 1/2″ squares. ONE (1) of these squares is the lower right-hand corner of this quilt block. Another ONE (1) of these squares is the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block. When all sewn together they’ll create a “frame” around the Cobras in the center of this quilt block.)

Burnt Sienna: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Burnt Sienna
2 5/8″ x 4″ rectangles which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners in the center of this quilt block.)
Burnt Sienna: Cut TWO (2) 2 5/8″ x 4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Burnt Sienna 2 5/8″ x 4″ rectangles which will create FOUR (4) Snowball corners in the center of this quilt block. They’re flanked by the results of the White 3 3/8″ squares.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Gold 4 5/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Flying Geese.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 2 5/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Rust 4 5/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Flying Geese.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Burnt Sienna 2 5/8″ by 4″ rectangles in the center of this quilt block.)

Summer Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Pink: Cut ONE (1) 1 7/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ squares.)
Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the results of the Green 2 7/8″ squares.)
Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 1 7/8″ square in the center of this quilt block. They’re also paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. In addition they’re paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ square.)
Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners in the center of this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares.)
Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Green
2 7/8″ squares in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the Green 3 3/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Pink 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles.)

Rolling Squares Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 5 1/4″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. Then they’re paired with the Yellow 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles.)
Pink: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank ONE (1) side of the Yellow 3 3/8″ squares in the corners of this quilt block. Once they’re sewn together with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares they’ll create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares.)
Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are flanked on ONE (1) side by the results of the Pink 2 7/8″ squares. They’re also flanked on THREE (3) other sides by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. Once they’re sewn together with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares they’ll create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Pink/White Flying Geese.)
White: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank THREE (3) sides of the Yellow 3 3/8″ squares in the corners of this quilt block. Once they’re sewn together with the results of the Pink 2 7/8″ squares they’ll create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Pink 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. Then they’re paired with the Yellow 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles.)

Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
Orange: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are paired on TWO (2) sides with the Yellow 4 1/2″ square that’s in the center of this quilt block. They’re also paired on ONE (1) other side with the Red 4 1/2″ square that’s in the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block. Once sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Four-Patch.)
Red: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
Red: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. TWO (2) of these Half-Square Triangles will be the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
