Summer Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 1 7/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ squares.)
- Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the results of the Green 2 7/8″ squares.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 1 7/8″ square in the center of this quilt block. They’re also paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. In addition they’re paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ square.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners in the center of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares.)
- Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Green
2 7/8″ squares in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.) - Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the Green 3 3/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares.)
- Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Pink 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ squares in the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ square.)

Sew TWELVE (12) “Card Trick Quilt Blocks” to end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished & 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
