Quilted Kitchen: Stuffed Quilt Block & Stuffed Peppers Recipe

Stuffed Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Stuffed Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Turquoise: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the Pink 3 1/8″ squares.)
  • Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 7″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ x 7″ rectangles.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Pink 3 1/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/8″ squares. (These are first paired with the Pink 3 1/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. Then they are paired with the results of the White 5 3/8″ squares. Finally they are paired with the Turquoise 3 1/8″ square. Once they are all sewn together they will create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They will also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 7″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Turquoise 2 1/2″ x 7″ rectangles.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Pink 4 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They will also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 5 3/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the Pink 3 3/8″ squares in the center of this quilt block.)

Gosling Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Aqua: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Gray 3 3/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles.)
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 3/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles.)
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Gray 3 3/8″ squares. Once they’re sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Gray 3 3/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. Then it’s flanked by the results of the White 3 3/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Aqua 3 3/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles.)
  • Gray: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Purple 3 3/8″ squares. Once they’re sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Gray: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Purple
    3 3/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. Then it’s flanked by the results of the White 3 3/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square in the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Purple 3 3/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Purple/Gray Quarter-Square Triangle in the center of this quilt block. Once it’s all sewn together it’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired on ONE (1) side with the Purple/White Half-Square Triangles. They’re paired on ONE (1) other side with the Aqua/Gray Half-Square Triangles.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Dk. Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. Once they’re sewn together they’ll be flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares.)
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares.)
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • Red: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares.)
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Dk. Blue 1 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. Once they’re sewn together they’ll be flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares.)
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Dk. Blue/White Four-Patches which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares once they’re all sewn together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Red 2 1/2″ squares in the corners of this quilt block.)

Mexican Cross Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 1 7/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares. It’s also paired with the Red 1 7/8″ squares. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Nine-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the Red 7 1/4″ square.)
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the Green 1 7/8″ square that’s in the center of this quilt block. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Nine-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the Green 1 7/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Red 1 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the Green 1 7/8″ square that’s in the center of this quilt block. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Nine-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (are paired with the White 1 7/8″ x 6 1/8″ rectangles. Which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’re also the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Green 1 7/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ x 6 1/8″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners.)
