Farm Country Star Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Farm Country Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Dk. Blue 4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
  • Dk. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Blue 4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
  • Dk. Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares.Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Dk. Blue 5 1/4″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

Summer Winds Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Dk. Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Yellow-Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Ash Green/White Half-Square Triangles on TWO sides. They’re also paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares on the other TWO (2) sides. Then they’re all paired with the Mint Green/White Half-Square Triangles & they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. All are needed to sew it together.)
  • Ash Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. These are paired with the Yellow-Green
    2 1/2″ squares on TWO (2) sides. They’re also paired with the Mint Green/White Half-Square Triangles on the other TWO (2) sides & they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as are needed to sew it together.)
  • Mint Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. These are paired with the Ash Green/White Half-Square Triangles on TWO (2) sides. Then they’re paired with the Yellow-Green 2 1/2″ squares & they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as are needed to sew it together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Dk. Green 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Ash Green 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. These are paired with the Yellow-Green

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Cyan Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Blue/White Half-Square Triangles. They’ll create a “frame” around the Blue 4 3/4″ in the square center of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’re then paired with the Cyan Blue 2 3/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. Which will create a “frame” around the Blue 4 3/4″ square in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s “framed” by the Cyan Blue 2 3/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. As well as the Blue/White Half-Square Triangles. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 3 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’re then paired with the Cyan Blue 2 3/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. Which will create a “frame” around the Blue 4 3/4″ square in the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Purple/White Half-Square Triangles in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
