Summer Winds Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Dk. Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Yellow-Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Ash Green/White Half-Square Triangles on TWO sides. They’re also paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares on the other TWO (2) sides. Then they’re all paired with the Mint Green/White Half-Square Triangles & they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. All are needed to sew it together.)
- Ash Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. These are paired with the Yellow-Green
2 1/2″ squares on TWO (2) sides. They’re also paired with the Mint Green/White Half-Square Triangles on the other TWO (2) sides & they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as are needed to sew it together.) - Mint Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. These are paired with the Ash Green/White Half-Square Triangles on TWO (2) sides. Then they’re paired with the Yellow-Green 2 1/2″ squares & they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as are needed to sew it together.)

- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Dk. Green/White Flying Geese as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
