On Cloud Nine: Center Nine-Patch Quilt Block

Center Nine-Patch Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Blue: Cut THREE (3) 2 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 2 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the Dk. Blue 2 1/4″ squares. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create a Nine-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Sky Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Blue 2 1/4″ x
    3 7/8″ rectangles on TWO (2) sides. They’re also paired with the Lt. Blue 3 7/8″ squares on TWO (2) other sides.)
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the Dk. Blue 2 1/4″ squares. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create a Nine-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ rectangles. (These are paired on ONE (1) side with the Blue 2 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ rectangles. Then they’re paired on ONE (1) other side with the Dk. Blue 2 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ rectangles.)
  • Dk. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the Blue 2 1/4″ squares. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create a Nine-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Dk. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ rectangles. (These are paired on TWO (2) sides with the Blue 2 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ rectangles. Then they’re paired on TWO (2) other sides with the Lt. Blue 3 7/8″ squares in the corners of this quilt block.)

Square Dance Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Square Dance Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Pink: Cut SIX (6) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Fuchsia 3 1/4″ squares. Which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles that’ll “Frame” the center of this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired on TWO (2) sides with the Pink/Fuchsia Half-Square Triangles.)
  • Pink: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ x 7 3/4″ rectangle. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • Fuchsia: Cut SIX (6) 3 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 3 1/4″ squares. Which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired on TWO (2) sides with the Fuchsia/Pink Half-Square Triangles. They’re also paired on ONE (1) other side with the Pink 2 7/8″ squares.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Pink 3 1/4″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles.)

Northwind Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles.)
  • Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese.)
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White
    4 5/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. Once sewn together it’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
