Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Blue: Cut TWENTY (20) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 1/2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch sections. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 1 1/2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch sections. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Green 2 3/8″ squares. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Nine-Patch sections as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the results of the Green 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Dark Rust: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This is flanked by the White 1 7/8″ squares, which will create ONE (1) Flying Geese. It’s also be part of the “top row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • Dark Rust: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This is flanked by the Rust 3 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Flying Geese. It’s also be part of the “top row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • Rust: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This will flank the results of the Dark Rust 7 1/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Flying Geese.   • Rust: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangle. (This is paired with the Rust 3 7/8″ square. It’s part of the “second row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle. (This will flank the results of the Rust 3 7/8″ square. It’ll also be paired with the White 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangle & the White 2 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ rectangle. It’s part of the “first row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need THREE (3) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This is paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It’s part of the “third row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 7 1/2″ rectangles. (These will flank the results of the Yellow 4 1/4″ squares & the White 3 1/2″ x 5″ square. They’re part of the “third row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • Mustard Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. They’re part of the “third row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • Mustard Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. You only need SIX (6) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares which will create TWO (2) Quarter-Square Triangles. They’re part of the “third row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • Mustard Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 1 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ rectangles. (These are part of the “third row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangle. (This is the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block. It’ll be flanked by the results of the White 1 7/8″ square & the Yellow 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangle. It’ll also be part of the “top row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 1 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the results of the Rust 3 1/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Flying Geese. It’s also part of the “top row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ rectangle. (This is the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the White 1 7/8″ square & the Yellow 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangle. It’ll also be part of the “top row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangle. (This is paired with the results of the White
    4 1/2″ square. It’s also flanked by the Yellow 2″ x 7 1/2″ rectangles. It’s part of the “third row” of this quilt block as shown in the “Country Church Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut TWENTY-FOUR (24) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares, which will create FORTY-EIGHT Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut THREE (3) 1 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 1 7/8″ squares & the results of the Brown 3 7/8″ squares. As needed for this quilt block.)
  • Brown: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Brown 3 3/8″ x 5″ rectangle which will create ONE (1) Snowball Corner. It’s also the bottom left-hand corner of this quilt block.)
  • Brown: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Green 1 7/8″ squares. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • Brown: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ x 5″ rectangle. (This is paired with the result of the White 8 1/4″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Brown: Cut ONE (1) 9 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This is flanked on ONE (1) side by the results of the Green 1 7/8″ squares & on ONE (1) other side by the results of the White 8 1/4″ square. As needed for this quilt block.)

You only need ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles for this quilt block. This will flank on ONE (1) side the Gold 1 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangle & on ONE (1) other side it’ll flank the White 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle.   • White: Cut ONE (1) 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangle. (This is flanked by the results of the White 1 7/8″ square. It’s also the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block & it’s part of the “top row” when you look at the “Grandma’s House Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these squares for this quilt block. (This will flank the Gold 7 1/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Flying Geese. It’s also part of the “second row” when you look at the “Grandma’s House Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Ash Green 1 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles & the Ash Green 1 1/2″ square. They’ll also be flanked on ONE (1) side by the Ash Green 2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangle & on ONE (1) other side it’ll be flanked by the Ash Green 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ rectangle. This is part of the “left-hand section” of this quilt block when you look at the “Grandma’s House Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle. (This is paired with the Mint Green 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. They’ll flank on ONE (1) side the Mint Green 2″ x 8″ rectangle & on ONE (1) other side they’ll flank the Mint Green 1 1/2″ x 8″ rectangle. They’ll be part of the “right-hand section” when you look at the “Grandma’s House Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3″ x 4″ rectangle. (This is paired with the Mint Green 3″ x 4″ rectangles. They’ll also be flanked on ONE (1) side by the Mint Green 1 1/2″ x 8″ rectangle. They’ll be part of the “right-hand section” when you look at the “Grandma’s House Quilt Block Diagram” below.)
