Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Lt. Blue: Cut TWENTY (20) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 1/2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch sections. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 1 1/2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch sections. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Green 2 3/8″ squares. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Nine-Patch sections as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the results of the Green 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Christmas Star Quilt Blocks,” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
