Beyond the Stars Quilt Block Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!Beyond the Stars Quilt Block




Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares & will help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Turquoise: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Light Turquoise 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Light Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Turquoise 2 3/8″ squares. They’ll also help create the center this quilt block.)
  • Light Turquoise: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Turquoise 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Light Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • Light Turquoise: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Turquoise 2″ squares & will help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Light Turquoise 7 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares & will help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Light Green 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Light Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Light Green
    2 3/8″ squares. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Light Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Light Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square & will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 2″ squares & will help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square & will flank the results of the Light Green 7 1/4″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the the results of the Light Green 4 1/4″ squares & by the results of the Light Green 4 1/4″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will flank the White 2 7/8″ square which will help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the Green 2 7/8″ squares & the White 2 7/8″ square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. (This will be the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Yellow 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Yellow 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Yellow 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)

  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Pink 3 5/8″ squares & the White 3 5/8″ squares. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut ONE  (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the Pink 2 7/8″ squares & the White 2 7/8″ square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Gray: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Gray: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • Gray: Cut ONE (1) 3 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 5/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Gray 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Gray 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 5/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Bright Pink: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. On the back side the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will flank both ends of the White 6 1/8″ x 11 7/8″ rectangle, which will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the upper right-hand & the lower left-hand corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • Light Pink: Cut ONE (1) 8 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank both sides of the White 6 1/8″ x 11 7/8″ rectangle. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 6 1/8″ x 11 7/8″ rectangle. (This is flanked on each end by the results of the Bright Pink 4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Snowball Corner. As well as on each side by the results of the Light Pink 8 7/8″ square. It’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)

  • Dark Pink: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the Red
    3 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Red: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Dark Pink 3 1/2″ squares on one side & the Dark Pink 2 1/2″ squares on the opposite side. As needed for this quilt block.)
