Octagon Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

• Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will flank the White 2 7/8″ square which will help create the center of this quilt block.)
• Green: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the Green
  2 7/8″ squares & the White 2 7/8″ square. They will also help create the center of this quilt block.)
• Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles.)
• Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
• White: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. (This will be the center of this quilt block.)
• White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Yellow 2 7/8″ squares.)
• White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Yellow 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles.)
• White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Yellow 2 7/8″ squares.)

• Gray: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles.)
• Gray: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
• Gray: Cut ONE (1) 3 5/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 5/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. They will also be the center of this quilt block.)
