Quilted Kitchen: Truck Stop Quilt Block & Truck Stop Potatoes Recipe

Truck Stop Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Peach: Cut ONE (1) 1 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the White 1 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles.)
  • Peach: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Dk. Teal 4 5/8″ squares.When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired with the Dk. Teal & Lt. Blue Half-Square Triangles. Once all are sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-Nine-Patch to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Dk. Teal 2 7/8″ squares & they’ll create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. Then they’re paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. In addition they’re paired with the Lt. Blue 2 1/2″ squares. Once all are sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue/Dk. Teal Half-Square Triangles. They’ll form a “frame” around the center of this quilt block.)
  • Dk. Teal: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Dk. Teal/Lt. Blue Half-square Triangles. Then they’re paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. In addition they’re paired with the Lt. Blue 2 1/2″ squares. Once all are sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches.)
  • Dk. Teal: Cut TWO (2) 4 5/8″ squares. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Peach 2 7/8″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Dk. Teal: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These squares are paired with the White 1 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles to help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles. (These are first paired with the Peach 1 1/2″ square in the center of this quilt block. Then they’re paired with the Dk. Teal 2″ squares.)

Space Star Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Space Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Pink: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Green 5 1/4″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Orange: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White
    2 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the Green 2 1/2″ squares. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White
    2 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the Orange 4 7/8″ squares. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Pink 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) more Flying Geese.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These triangles are paired with the Green 2 1/2″ square. They’re also paired with the results of the Orange 4 7/8″ square. When all sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)

    5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ square. They’re also paired with the Blue 2 1/2″ square. When all sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ square. They’re also paired with the results of the Orange 4 7/8″ square. When all sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Green 2 7/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Blue 3 3/8″ square in the center of this quilt block. When they’re all sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ square. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
