Crown Star Quilt Block




Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares & the Blue 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. Which will create FOUR (4) Mini-Log Cabins as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares & the Blue 2 1/2″ squares to create FOUR (4) Mini-Log Cabins as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Dark Pink: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’ll be flanked by the results of the White 4 1/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in the Square.)
  • Dark Pink: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 2″ squares & the Blue 2″ x
    3 1/2″ rectangles to create FOUR (4) Mini-Log Cabins as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut SIX (6) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the Green 4 1/4″ squares & by the results of the Dark Pink 4 1/4″ Squares. They’re also the FOUR (4) corner’s of quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the Dark Pink 3 1/2″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lime Green: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Yellow 2″ squares & the White 2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch blocks as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’ll be flanked by the results of the White 4 1/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in the Square.)
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ square as is needed for this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Yellow 2″ squares & the White 2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch blocks as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Yellow 2″ squares & the Lime Green 2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch blocks as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut SIX (6) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of the Yellow 4 1/4″ squares. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the Dark Purple

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares & the Dark Green 2 3/8″ squares. Which will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • Ash Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Dark Green: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides by the results of the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. It’s also the center of this quilt block.)
  • Dark Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will flank one end of the Green 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles, which will create ONE (1) Snowball Corner, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank both sides of the Green 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will flank ONE (1) end of the Green 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles, which will create ONE (1) Snowball Corner, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Dark Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 5 3/8″ rectangles. (Each ONE (1) of these rectangles is paired with FOUR (4) White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create SIXTEEN (16) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Dark Gray: Cut TWO (2) 5 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 5 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Dark Gray 3 1/2″ x 5 3/8″ rectangles, which will create the SIXTEEN (16) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 5 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Dark Gray 5 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)

  • Brown: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Brown: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This will be used for the center of the quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 5 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Lt. Gray 5 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Pink 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Brown 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
