Starry Cross Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares & the Dark Green 2 3/8″ squares. Which will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Ash Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Dark Green: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides by the results of the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. It’s also the center of this quilt block.)
- Dark Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will flank one end of the Green 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles, which will create ONE (1) Snowball Corner, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank both sides of the Green 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will flank ONE (1) end of the Green 2 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles, which will create ONE (1) Snowball Corner, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the the results of the Dark Green 2 1/2″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Ash Green 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles, which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)

- Light Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Medium Gray 2 5/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Dark Gray 2 5/8″ squares. Then they’re paired with the Gray 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball corners. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Dark Gray: Cut ONE (1) 2 5/8″ square. (This will be flanked by the results of the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Dark Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Gray 2 5/8″ squares. Then they’re paired with the Dark Gray 2 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank both sides of the Gray 2 5/8″ squares & the Dark Gray 2 5/8″ squares. Which will help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Dark Green 2 5/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. It’s also the center of this quilt block.)
