On Cloud Nine: Main Street Quilt Block

Main Street Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Main Street Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Turquoise/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Nine-Patch. All sewn together they’ll create the middle of this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/2″ x 5″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 1 1/2″ x 5″ rectangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Turquoise 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut FIVE (5) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 1 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Nine-Patch. All sewn together they’ll create the middle of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 5″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Purple 1 1/2″ x 5″ rectangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

On Cloud Nine: Double Anchor Quilt Block

Double Anchor Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Rust: Cut FIVE (5) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 3 3/8″ squares. Once they’re sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Nine-Patch & they’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
  • Rust: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These are the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block. They’ll flank the Rust/Green Nine-Patch in the center of this quilt & will partially create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Rust 3 3/8″ squares. Once they’re sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Nine-Patch & they’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. (These are the lower right-hand & the upper left-hand corners of this quilt block. They’ll flank the Rust/Green Nine-Patch in the center of this quilt & will partially create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)

All Points Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 1 7/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangle. (This is paired with the Yellow 1 7/8″ squares which will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners. Then they’re paired with the results of the Green
    3 7/8″ square. Once sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These squares are paired with the Yellow 1 7/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. Once sewn together they’ll create TWO (2) Snowball Corners as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Pink
    5 1/4″ squares. Then they’re paired with the results of the Green 4 7/8″ squares. Once all are sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Green 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Pink: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Yellow
    5 1/4″ squares. Then they’re paired with the results of the Green 4 7/8″ squares. Once all are sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the Yellow 1 7/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangle. Once sewn together, with the TWO (2) Snowball Corners, they’ll help create the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Yellow 5 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the Pink 5 1/4″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Pink 2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. They’re also paired with the White 2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Green 1 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Aqua: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White
    2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Salmon: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares as needed to sew it together.)
  • Salmon: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. Once sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Salmon 2 1/2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Aqua 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Salmon 4 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. Once sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Gray: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Lt. Blue 5 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ square. When sewn all together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed to sew this block together.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square.
