Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Aqua: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White
2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.) - Salmon: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares as needed to sew it together.)
- Salmon: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. Once sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Salmon 2 1/2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Aqua 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Salmon 4 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. Once sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)

Sew TWELVE (12) “Chained Nine Patch Quilt Blocks” to end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished & 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
