Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

(Editor’s note: This is a scrappy quilt block, so just choose whatever scraps you want to use, and cut your bits and pieces out of them, so you end up with the quilt block shown above.)

  • Peach, Lilac, Green, Mint Green, Yellow, Pink, Light Turquoise, Purple & Light Peach: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square of EACH color.
  • White: Cut THIRTY-SIX (36) 2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.

  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 6 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2 1/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.

  • Turquoise: Cut FIVE (5) 4 1/2″ squares.
  • Gray: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Gray 4 3/4″ squares to create half-square triangles.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 1 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips.
  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 1 3/4″ x 10 1/2 inch strips.
  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 1 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
