Star of Bethlehem Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips. (These will “frame” the left & right sides of the Yellow 3 1/2″ square at the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 6 1/2″ strips. (These will “frame” the top & bottom sides of the Yellow 3 1/2″ square at the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Yellow 3 3/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
