On Cloud Nine: Double T Quilt Block

Quilt Therapy Posted on October 26, 2021 by TK HarrisonOctober 17, 2021

Double T Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltDash.com!

Double T Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Teal: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 3 3/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Teal: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Rust: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Rust: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the White
2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the Teal 2 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Rust 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Teal 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the Rust

Friday Funday! It’s all about “Colorful Wishes” at Quilt Dash this Month!

Quilt Therapy Posted on October 15, 2021 by TK HarrisonOctober 13, 2021

This is a big block quilt! Which means that it’ll create a large quilt top quickly!

This "Colorful Wishes" Quilt is a Free Pattern that Quilt Dash members earn for completing the October 2021 Quilt Dash game!

“Colorful Wishes”
Designed by TK Harrison (that’s me 🙂 )!
This traditionally pieced quilt measures 77″ x 96” when finished.
The quilt blocks are 16” finished & 16 1/2” unfinished.

All of the quilt blocks are the same ones. They just have different colored fabrics in them! That makes them perfect  for anyone who’s dreaming of a quilt with a
“Colorful Wishes” rainbow on it!:

You can easily make less “Wishing Pinwheel” quilt blocks if you’d like to make a smaller quilt! Or just make a single quilt block & you have yourself a table topper! The sky’s the limit when you’re sewing a big block quilt together!

This could be a scrappy quilt, too! Unless you’re guarding your stash & don’t want to part with it 🙂 !

In order for you to download this free pattern, all you need to do is to create a new account (or login to your current account) at QuiltDash.com & click on the link that says “Join the QuiltDash” (no quotes). Once you’ve done that, you just need to search for the images on the shops/websites/blogs who are participating in this month’s Quilt Dash. It’s really quite simple & it’s a fun thing to do! Not to mention you get to look at some lovely quilty fabrics & notions that you may just want to purchase (I promise not to tell anyone 🙂 )!
