Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (TWO (2) of these will help create the center of this quilt block. The remaining TWO (2) of these are the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (TWO (2) of these will help create the center of this quilt block. The remaining TWO (2) of these are the upper tight-hand & lower left-hand corners this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the White
    3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Pink 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Lt. Blue 3 3/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Rust: Cut TWO 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Rust: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Blue 4 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut TWO 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Rust 4 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Rust 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/5″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the Lt. Blue 4 1/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Star in a Star.)
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Lime Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Lt. Blue 4 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the Aqua 4 1/4″ square & then they’re paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square. All together they’ll create EIGHT (8) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Lime Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Lilac 4 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the Aqua 4 1/4″ square & then they’re paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square. All together they’ll create EIGHT (8) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Aqua: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Purple 4 1/2″ square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Aqua: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Lilac 4 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the Aqua 4 1/4″ square & then they’re paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square.
