Star Power: Loni’s Star Quilt Block & Loni’s Star Variation Quilt Block

Loni’s Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Blue: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the Blue 3 1/4″ square.)
Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the Aqua 4 1/4″ square & they’re also flanked by the results of the White 4 1/4″ square. All are needed to create this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Salmon
3 1/4″ square & they’re also paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square. All together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed to create this quilt block.)
Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 2 5/8″ squares as needed to create this quilt block.)
Salmon: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 2 5/8″ square on ONE (1) side. They’ll also be paired with the results of the Lt. Blue 4 1/4″ squares. Then they’ll be paired with the White 3 1/2″ squares. All are needed to create this quilt block.)
Salmon: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Blue 3 1/4″ square. They’re also paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ square. Which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed to create this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (2) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the Lt. Blue 4 1/4″ squares. Then they’re paired with the Quarter-Square Triangles in the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re flanked by the results of the Salmon 4 1/4″ squares.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Blue 3 1/4″ square & they’re also paired with the results of the Salmon 3 1/4″ squares. All together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles & will help create the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 2 5/8″ squares as needed to create this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Salmon: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the Salmon 3 1/4″ square.)
Salmon: Cut TWO (2) 3 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 5/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to create this quilt block.)
Salmon: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Blue 3 1/4″ squares & they’re also paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square. All together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed to create this quilt block.)

The Chief Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Sage Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with each other. Then they’re paired with the results of the Sage Green 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
Sage Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create one-half of a Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
Jade: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with each other. Then they’re paired with the results of the Jade 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
Jade: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create one-half of a Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the White 4 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are flanked on ONE (1) side by the results of the Sage Green 2 7/8″ squares. Then they’ll be flanked on ONE (1) other side by the results of the Jade 2 7/8″ squares. All together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the Turquoise 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners.)

“Clover Medley”

This traditionally pieced & appliquéd quilt measures 51″ x 74 1/2” when finished.
The quilt blocks are 10” finished & 10 1/2” unfinished.

This “Clover Medley” quilt pattern features appliquéd Shamrocks in TWO (2) sizes to form an asymmetrical quilt. Use your scraps or precuts for the Shamrocks to give it a scrappy look!
