Album Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Mint Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
Green: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles. (These rectangles are paired with the White
3 3/8″ square in the center of this quilt block. They’ll partially create a “frame” around it as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ x 6 1/8″ rectangles. (These rectangles are paired with the White
3 3/8″ square in the center of this quilt block. They’ll partially create a “frame” around it as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the Green 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles. It’s also paired with the Green 1 7/8″ x 6 1/8″ rectangles. They’ll create a “frame” around it as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Mint Green 5 1/4″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

Sew TWELVE (12) “Album Star Quilt Blocks” to end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished & 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

Album Star Variation Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Lt. Blue: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White
2 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. When sewn together they’re the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
Lt. Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
Aqua: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)

Salmon: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares as needed to sew it together.)
Salmon: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. Once sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Salmon 2 1/2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Aqua 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Red 2 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired with the Red 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. All sewn together they’ll create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Red
5 1/4″ square. They’re also paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares. All sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
