Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Red 2 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired with the Red 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. All sewn together they’ll create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Red
5 1/4″ square. They’re also paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares. All sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.) - Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Yellow 2 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired with the Red 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. All sewn together they’ll create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Yellow 2 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired with the Red 2 1/2″ squares. All sewn together they’ll create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Red: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Red 5 1/4″ square. They’re also paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares. All sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
