Tea Rose Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Pink: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Pink: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Pink 2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the Red/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. They’re paired with the Pink 2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the White 3 1/2″ x 5″ rectangles as needed to sew it together.)
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 2″ squares in the corners of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Red 2 3/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. They’re paired with the Pink 2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 5″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Red 3 1/2″ square in the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Red: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Yellow
    3 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the Yellow 7 1/4″ squares. When all are sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew it together.)
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)

  • Gold: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the Gold 2 5/8″ squares. Then they’ll flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create half of a Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Silver: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Gold 2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch in the center of this quilt block. They’ll be flanked by the results of the White 4 1/4″ square, which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Silver: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Silver 4 1/4″ squares. Then they’ll flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create half of a Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Silver: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the Silver 2 5/8″ squares. (These triangles are flanked on ONE (1) side by the results of the Gold 4 1/4″ square + the Gold 2 3/8″ square. They’re also flanked one ONE (1) other side by the results of the Silver 4 1/4″ square + the Silver 2 5/8″ squares. All sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

King’s Star Variation Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Gold: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Gold: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Silver 2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch in the center of this quilt block. They’ll be flanked by the results of the White 4 1/4″ square, which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Gold: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Gold 4 1/4″ squares. Then they’ll flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create half of a Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are flanked on ONE (1) side by the results of the Gold 4 1/4″ square + the Gold 2 3/8″ square. They’re also flanked one ONE (1) other side by the results of the Silver 4 1/4″ square + the Silver 2 5/8″ squares. All sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
