Quilted Kitchen: London Quilt Block & London Fog Muffins

London Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

London Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 7 5/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • Red: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares, which will create SIXTEEN (16) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Red: Cut TEN (10) 1 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 5 7/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White 1 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Red 1 7/8″ squares, which will create SIXTEEN (16) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Red 3 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut TEN (10) 1 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Red 7 5/8″ square in the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 5 7/8″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re flanked by the results of the Red 1 7/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

Pizza Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Pizza Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Red 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the Red 2 5/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. When paired with the Red/White Flying Geese they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Red: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Yellow 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Red: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the White 2 5/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. When paired with the Yellow/Red Flying Geese they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Dk. Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Dk. Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares. which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the center of this quilt block together.)
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 7 1/4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners. FOUR (4) of these Snowball Corners are the FOUR (4) Corners of this quilt block. As needed to sew it together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Dk. Green 2 1/2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 2 1/2″ x 7 1/4″ rectangles which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners. FOUR (4) of these Snowball Corners are the FOUR (4) Corners of this quilt block. As needed to sew it together.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Dk. Green 2 7/8″ squares. which will create EIGHT (8 ) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the center of this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the White 3″ squares. They’re also paired with the Purple/White Half-Square Triangles. All together they’ll create TWO (2) Four-Patches as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’re paired with the Lt. Blue 3″ squares & they’re also paired with the White 3″ squares. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block. All together they’ll create TWO (2) Four-Patches. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Purple 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles, which will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the upper right-hand & the lower left-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Purple 2 7/8″ squares which will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the upper right-hand & the lower left-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are are paired one ONE (1) side with the results of the Purple 3 3/8″ square. Then they’re paired with the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired one ONE (1) side with the results of the Purple 3 3/8″ square. Then they’re paired with the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are are paired one ONE (1) side with the results of the Purple 3 3/8″ square. Then they’re paired with the results of the White 4 7/8″ squares. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle. (This is the vertical center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 3″ squares. They’re also paired with the Purple/White Half-Square Triangles. All together they’ll create TWO (2) Four-Patches. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.   • Lilac: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. (This is paired with the White 2 7/8″ square, which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. This quilt block only needs ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles. It’s then paired with the White 2 1/2″ square as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Lilac: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired on ONE (1) side with the Lilac/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)

  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with TWO (2) of the Purple
    2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (ONE (1) of these is paired with the Lilac 2 7/8″ square, which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. This quilt block only needs ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles. The other ONE (1) of these squares is paired with the Violet 2 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. This quilt block only needs ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles. They’re both then paired with the White 2 1/2″ square as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
