Easy Going Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Magenta 3 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. When sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the Blue 7 1/4″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
Magenta: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 3 1/2″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. When sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
Magenta: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the Blue 7 1/4″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
Lt. Blue: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked on ONE (1) side by the results of the Purple 3 7/8″ squares. Then they’re flanked on ONE (1) other side by the results of the Magenta 3 7/8″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)

Easy Going Star Variation Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Peach: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
Peach: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Rust
3 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. When sewn together they’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
Peach: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are are paired on TWO (2) sides with the Peach/Rust Quarter-Square Triangle in the center of this quilt block. When sewn together with the Rust 3 7/8″ square they’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)

(These triangles are paired on TWO (2) sides with the Peach/Rust Quarter-Square Triangle in the center of this quilt block. When sewn together with the Rust 3 7/8″ square they’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)

Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 5/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White
3 1/4″ squares. Then they’re paired with the Blue/White Half-Square Triangles in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Yellow: Cut NINE (9) 2 1/4″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the White 2″ squares which will create NINE (9) Square in a Squares. ONE (1) of these Square in a Squares is the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 3 1/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the Blue 5 5/8″ squares. Then they’re paired with the Blue/White Half-Square Triangles in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)

Brown: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles will be paired with the Rust 4 1/2″ square & they’ll also be paired with the White 4 1/2″ square in the center of this quilt block.)
Rust: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles will be paired with the Rust 4 1/2″ square & they’ll also be paired with the White 4 1/2″ square in the center of this quilt block.)

Mint Green: Cut TWELVE (12) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create TWENTY-FOUR (24) Half-Square Triangles.)
Mint Green: Cut SIX (6) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles. Once they’re sewn together with the White 2 5/8″ squares they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
Mint Green: Cut TWO (2) 5 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the center of this quilt block which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
