Quilted Kitchen: Indian Trail Quilt Block & Native American Fry Bread Recipe

Indian Trail Quilt Block Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at www.QuiltTherapy.com!

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Brown: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These will be used for TWO (2) of the corners as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Brown: Cut ONE (1) 4″ x 7 1/4″ strip. (This will be flanked by the results of the White 5 3/4″ square, which will also be the center, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Brown: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank both ends of the Brown 4″ x 7 1/4″ strip, which will also be the center, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Brown: Cut SIX (6) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares to create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These will be used for TWO (2) of the corners as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut SIX (6) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares to create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 5 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the Brown 4″ x 7 1/4″ strip, which will also be the center, as needed for this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Maroon: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the White 2 3/4″ squares to create a Four-Patch, which will also be the center, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Maroon: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Maroon: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank ONE (1) end of the Maroon
    2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Maroon: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will be flanked by the Maroon 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Maroon 2 3/4″ squares to create a Four-Patch, which will also be the center, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips. (These will flank the results of the Maroon 7 1/4″ square to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank ONE (1) end of the Maroon
    2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will be flanked by the Maroon 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Light Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, which will also be the FOUR (4) corners as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Light Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be paired with the Rose 3 1/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Light Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the White 6″ square to create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut TWO 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be paired with the Rose 3 1/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
