Arrowhead Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Maroon: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the White 2 3/4″ squares to create a Four-Patch, which will also be the center, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Maroon: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
- Maroon: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank ONE (1) end of the Maroon
2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips as needed for this quilt block.) - Maroon: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will be flanked by the Maroon 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Maroon 2 3/4″ squares to create a Four-Patch, which will also be the center, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips. (These will flank the results of the Maroon 7 1/4″ square to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank ONE (1) end of the Maroon
2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips as needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will be flanked by the Maroon 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Arrowhead Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
