Goose Creek Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 2 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create TWO (2) Nine-Patches. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
Green: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create TWO (2) Nine-Patches. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles will flank the White 4 3/4″ squares which will create TWO (2) Square in a Squares. They’ll also be the upper right-hand & lower left-hand corners of this quilt block.)
White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired with the Green 2 1/2″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create TWO (2) Nine-Patches. They’ll also be the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corners of this )
White: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the Green 3 7/8″ squares which will create TWO (2) Square in a Squares. They’ll also be the upper right-hand & lower left-hand corners of this quilt block.)

Friday Funday! It’s “Fall Arrival” at Quilt Dash this Month!

Fall colors make a beautiful quilt!

“Fall Arrival”
Designed by Phyllis Dobbs!

This appliquéd & pieced quilt measures 49” x 59” when finished.
The blocks are 10″ square finished & 10 1/2″ square unfinished.

The Fall Arrival quilt pattern can be easily adjusted to make it smaller or larger from the original quilt pattern.

The quilt is made with 20 – 10″ square blocks in an alternating color arrangement.

There are only two blocks that make up this beautiful “Fall Arrival” quilt pattern:

An appliqué leaf on half of the blocks creates a visual point of interest to illustrate falling leaves!

This is what one of the rows in the “Fall Arrival” quilt looks like!

When you finish your fall quilt, you can use this pattern to welcome spring, by using brighter colors with green leaves.

Rhode Island Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Magenta: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares as needed to sew the center of this quilt block together.)
Magenta: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are flanked by the the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew the center of this quilt block together.)
Magenta: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)

Lilac: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
Purple: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are flanked by the the results of the White 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew the center of this quilt block together.)
Purple: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White
5 1/4″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Magenta 3 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew the center of this quilt block together.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Lilac 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Purple 5 1/4″ square as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
