Friday Funday! The Kindred Spirits Quilt Guild Finished Making my free “Mistletoe in the Corner” BOM Quilt

"Mistletoe in the Corner" is a Free Block of the Month Christmas Quilt Pattern designed by TK Harrison owner of BOMquilts.com & QuiltTherapy.com!“Mistletoe in the Corner”

Finished Size of Lap Quilt 53″ x 53″ (14 1/2″ block)
This pattern was just updated this month. It’s the same pattern as before with a few minor adjustments. It also includes “Tutorials” to help create the quilt blocks!

Take a look at the previous post about the Kindred Spirits Quilt Guild!
They have now finished their “Mistletoe in the Corner” BOM Quilts & all who made them enjoyed the experience! I have really loved getting their emails & watching their progress as they sew together my block of the month quilt!

The last blog post shows that they had completed Blocks #2 & #3. I’ll pick up where they left off:

Quilted Kitchen Bonus! Snail’s Trail Quilt Block & Cinnamon Snails Recipe

Snail’s Trail Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Peach: Cut TWO (2) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 5/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. When all sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Peach: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. (This is paired with the White 3 7/8″ square, which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Peach: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Four-Patch in the center of this quilt block. Together with the results of the White 3 7/8″ square, they’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square, as needed to sew it together.)
  • Peach: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Peach/White Half-Square Triangles. They’re also the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 5/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Peach 2 5/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch. When all sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Peach 3 7/8″ square, which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Four-Patch in the center of this quilt block. Together with the results of the Peach 3 7/8″ square, they’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square, as needed to sew it together.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangle. (This is the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ rectangle. (This is the lower right-hand corner of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)

  • Lt. Pink: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Pink: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Pink 2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the Red/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. They’re paired with the Pink 2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the White 3 1/2″ x 5″ rectangles as needed to sew it together.)

  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Turquoise/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
