Wrap yourself in some quilty stars so you’ll dream of the wonders above us! This is a big block quilt that’s perfect for chain stitching! It may look complicated, but if you can sew Half-Square Triangles, you’re good to go!

Quilted Kitchen: Peace & Plenty Quilt Block and Peace ‘n Plenty’s Ham and Cheddar Rolls

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Turquoise: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/2″ squares. (These will be the cornerstones to the White 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ strips as needed for this quilt block.)
- Turquoise: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips. (These will be flanked, on both sides by the results of the White 4″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides by the White 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips, they will also create a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Green: Cut TWO (2) 7 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need SIX (6) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will flank the Turquoise 1 1/2″ squares, and the White
3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips, as needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut TWO (2) 4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank both sides, of the Turquoise 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ strips. (These will flank on all FOUR (4) sides, the Light Green 3 1/2″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Peace & Plenty Quilt Blocks,†you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Light Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank all four sides, the White 4 1/2″ square to create a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Blue: Cut TWO (2) 7″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 2″ x 6″ strips, as well as the White 2″ x 9″ strips, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides by the results of the Light Blue 5 1/4″ square, which will also create a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 6″ strips (These will flank the results of the Light Blue 5 1/4″ square on one side, and the results of the Light Blue 7″ squares on the opposite sides, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 9″ strips. (These will flank the results of the Light Blue 5 1/4″ square on one side, and the results of the Light Blue 7″ squares on the opposite sides, as needed for this quilt block.)
