Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Tan 7 1/4″ squares & with the results of the White 7 1/4″ square. Which will create TWO (2) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • Tan: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Red 6 7/8″ squares & with the results of the White 7 1/4″ square. Which will create TWO (2) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • Tan: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White
    7 1/4″ square & with the results of the Tan 7 1/4″ square. Which will create TWO (2) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the upper right-hand & lower left-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • Tan: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Tan 6 7/8″ squares & with the results of the White 7 1/4″ squares. Which will create TWO (2) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the upper right-hand & lower left-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (TWO (2) of these triangles will be paired with the results of the Red 6 7/8″ squares & with the results of the Tan 6 7/8″ squares. Which will create TWO (2) Split Half-Square Triangles. The remaining TWO (2) will be paired with the results of the Tan 6 7/8″ squares & with the results of the White 7 1/4″ squares. Which will create TWO (2) Split Half-Square Triangles.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Lt. Blue 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with White 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the results of the Blue
    2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with Lt. Blue 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)

(These are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ square & with the results of the Lt. Sage Green 4 7/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles.   • White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Lt.   • Lt. Sage Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Lt. Gray 5 1/4″ square & with the results of the White 5 1/4″ square. Which will create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
  • Sage Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Lt. Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the Tan 2 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
  • Tan: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 3 3/8″ square, which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Tan: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the Pink 4 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the Tan 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the results of the Pink
    2 7/8″ squares, which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Tan
