Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 1/2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch squares. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the White
2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.) - Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the White 4 1/2″ square, which will create a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 1 1/2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patch squares. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 2 7/8″, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
