Quilt Dash Knows how to Dance the Irish Jig! Do you?

Quilt Therapy Posted on March 19, 2020 by TK HarrisonMarch 14, 2020

The Irish Jig’s Probably the Most Distinctive & Recognizable Dance Style’s Around!
Irish love to dance & the Irish Jig is one of their favorite styles!

This month, “Ye Olde Irish Jig” is the free pattern, that members earn
for completing the Quilt Dash.

"Ye Olde Irish Jig Quilt" a free pattern, that Quilt Dash members can earn, if they finish the March 2020 Quilt Dash! Designed by TK Harrison!“Ye Olde Irish Jig”

This traditionally pieced quilt measures 62″ x 80″ when finished.
The blocks are 12” finished and 12 1/2” unfinished.

This quilt block looks difficult to make, but it uses the Sew‐n‐Slashâ„¢ Method, developed by me 🙂 & that makes it sew together in a jiffy!

First you sew together the quilt block above.

Designed by TK Harrison! Then you’ll sew the FOUR (4) corner’s to the quilt block shown above & once done you’ll Slash off the unused corner’s of the quilt block shown above! It’s as simple (or hard, depending on how you want to look at it) as that!

In order for you to download this free pattern, all you need to do is to create a new account (or login to your current account) at QuiltDash.com & click on the link that says “Join the QuiltDash” (no quotes). Once you’ve done that, you just need to search for the images on the shops/websites/blogs who are participating in this month’s Quilt Dash. It’s really quite simple & a fun thing to do! Not to mention you get to look at some lovely quilty fabrics that you may just want to purchase (I promise not to tell anyone 🙂 )!

The Good Time Quilters of Blind Bay Finish their BOM Quilts!

Quilt Therapy Posted on March 12, 2020 by TK HarrisonMarch 7, 2020

Do ya’ll remember reading about “The Good Time Quilters of Blind Bay” before? I wrote about them three separate times right here on my blog.
You can find the previous blog posts here, here & here.“Cinnamon-teen Chocolate Figs & Roses.” An original block of the month design by TK Harrison for BOMquilts.com.They made my original pattern from my sister site BOMquilts.com called “Cinnamon-teen Chocolate Figs & Roses.”

I designed this BOM quilt in 2006 & it’s become a treasured quilt pattern! It’s just one of those timeless patterns that never goes unnoticed! I hear it from so many people that they love my pattern & they love the finished quilt even more!

But “The Good Time Quilters of Blind Bay” are the subject of this post so I’d better get on with the program 🙂

Here’s some pix of their finished quilts & I’m so impressed with how they all turned out! I don’t think any two of them are the same & I know that each one reflects the maker of their individual quilts. Love each & every one of them!

Quilts by “The Good Time Quilters of Blind Bay,” Sorrento, British Columbia, Canada. Made my originally designed for BOMquilts.com 2006 Block of the Month quilt called "“Cinnamon-teen Chocolate Figs & Roses.”

This is a photo of a number of the “Cinnamon-teen Chocolate Figs & Roses” quilts made by some of the members of “The Good Time Quilters of Blind Bay” quilt group!

These next four photos are the individual quilts (most of them) shown above in the group photo.
(Don’t pay too much attention to the distorted quilt photos. Doesn’t mean that they aren’t beautiful! That’s how they came to me.)

This last quilt photo was made by Mandy. Isn’t it stunning?!! Not to discount the other quilters’ quilts. This is just the only one that I was able to get a good pic of.

It’s a very important part of the pattern, too.
There are 29 different fabrics, that make up this quilt top & without this second part you’ll be completely lost! Because it names & assigns numbers to each & every fabric that’s in this quilt top.

“A Quilter’s Dream” at Quilt Dash this Month

Quilt Therapy Posted on February 20, 2020 by TK HarrisonFebruary 14, 2020

An optical illusion is something that deceives
the eye by appearing to be other than it is.

An Optical Illusion

That’s what’s happening with this month’s free quilt pattern over at Quilt Dash.
You don’t get the free pattern just for playing our Quilt Dash game. Oh no, you don’t 🙂 ! You must complete the Quilt Dash & then you’ll earn this month’s free quilt pattern.

"A Quilter's Dream" Quilt Pattern - Optical Illusion One - For Member's to earn if they participate in the February 2020 Quilt Dash - Designed by Phyllis Dobbs

“A Quilter’s Dream”
Optical Illusion One

This beautiful quilt was designed by Phyllis Dobbs for Quilt Dash.

Here’s what Phyllis has to say about her quilt pattern: “Create a quilt that can be an optical illusion with this on-point quilt pattern consisting of half square triangles and quarter square triangles. Quilters Dream quilt pattern consists of 5 different 8” blocks. An alternate arrangement of the blocks is shown for another option of creating your quilt. The quilt size is 44” x 55 1/4.”

"A Quilter's Dream" Quilt Pattern - Optical Illusion Two - For Member's to earn if they participate in the February 2020 Quilt Dash - Designed by Phyllis Dobbs

Optical Illusion Two

See what I mean? Isn’t it amazing how you can just move a few different blocks around & come up with a completely different quilt? I bet you could even change them around a couple more times & still have something different.
Each & every time!
