Dublin Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Lt. Blue: Cut FIVE (5) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Nine-Patch. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block when they’re sew together.)
- Lt. Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares. They’ll also be paired with the White 3 3/8″ x 4 3/8″ rectangles. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Lt. Blue: Cut TWELVE (12) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the Navy Blue
2 1/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.) - Navy Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Lt. Blue
1 7/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.) - Navy Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the White 3 3/8″ x 4 3/8″ rectangles, which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 1 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Nine-Patch. When sewn together they’ll also create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 1 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the White 3 3/8″ x 4 3/8″ rectangles. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Navy Blue 1 7/8″ squares as need to sew this quilt block together.)
