Grandfather’s Choice Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Red: Cut ONE (1) 9″ square.
- Red: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Red 3 3/4″ squares to create half-square triangles.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.

If you make TWELVE (12) “Grandfather’s Choice Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
