Susannah Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Susannah Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired on ONE (1) side with the Red
    5 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired on ONE (1) other side with the White 3 1/2″ squares.)
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired on ONE (1) side with the Yellow
    3 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired on ONE (1) other side with the White 3 1/2″ squares.)
  • Red: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the White 4 3/4″ square in the center of this quilt block. When all sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired on ONE (1) side with the Yellow 3 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired on ONE (1) other side with the Red 3 1/2″ squares.)

Square Star Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Square Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Lt. Pink: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • Blush: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Pink 3 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ square. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles.)
  • Bright Pink: Cut FOURTEEN (14) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create TWENTY-EIGHT (28) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Bright Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Blush 3 1/4″ square. They’re also paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ square. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles.)
  • White: Cut FOURTEEN (14) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Bright Pink
    2 3/8″ squares which will create TWENTY-EIGHT (28) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Quarter-Square Triangles in the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Blush 3 1/4″ square. They’re also paired with the results of the Bright Pink 3 1/4″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These will “frame” the left-hand & the right-hand sides of the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 9 1/2″ rectangles. (These will “frame” the upper & the lower sides of the center of this quilt block.)

  • Dk. Purple: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Lilac 1 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Four-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut FOURTEEN (14) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares which will create TWENTY-EIGHT (28) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ square. Then they’re paired with the Four-Patch in the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOURTEEN (14) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Purple
    2 3/8″ squares which will create TWENTY-EIGHT (28) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Purple
    3 1/4″ square in the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 3 1/4″ square. Then they’re paired with the Four-Patch in the center of this quilt block)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These will “frame” the left-hand & the right-hand sides of the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 9 1/2″ rectangles. (These will “frame” the upper & the lower sides of the center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Navy Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Teal 2 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. Once all are sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Teal: Cut FOUR (4) 2 /8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Navy Blue 4 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. Once all are sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut FIVE (5) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Fuchsia
    2 7/8″ squares, which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square, in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Fuchsia: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Lt. Blue 3 3/8″ square in the center of this quilt block. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square.
  • Fuchsia:Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Lt. Blue 3 3/8″ squares. Which will partially create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares.)
  •  White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will be paired with the Navy Blue 4 7/8″ squares in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re also paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares that are in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Peach: Cut ONE (1) 1 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the White 1 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles.)
  • Peach: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Dk. Teal 4 5/8″ squares.When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. They’re also paired with the Dk. Teal & Lt. Blue Half-Square Triangles. Once all are sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-Nine-Patch to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Dk. Teal 2 7/8″ squares & they’ll create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. Then they’re paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. In addition they’re paired with the Lt. Blue 2 1/2″ squares. Once all are sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches.)
  • Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue/Dk. Teal Half-Square Triangles. They’ll form a “frame” around the center of this quilt block.)
  • Dk. Teal: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Dk. Teal/Lt. Blue Half-square Triangles. Then they’re paired with the White 2 1/2″ squares. In addition they’re paired with the Lt. Blue 2 1/2″ squares. Once all are sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Four-Patches.)
  • Dk. Teal: Cut TWO (2) 4 5/8″ squares. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Peach 2 7/8″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Dk. Teal: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These squares are paired with the White 1 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles to help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles. (These are first paired with the Peach 1 1/2″ square in the center of this quilt block. Then they’re paired with the Dk. Teal 2″ squares.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Pink: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Green 5 1/4″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Orange: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White
    2 7/8″ squares. They’re also paired with the Green 2 1/2″ squares. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White

  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) more Flying Geese.)

  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Green 2 7/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese in the center of this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square.
