Countdown to Christmas 12/1/2019: Christmas Cheer Quilt Block

Christmas Cheer Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These will be flanked on THREE (3) sides, by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut TWELVE (12) 2 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 2 1/2″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with each other, which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips. (These will be flanked by the results of the Blue
3 3/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Blue 2 1/2″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 3 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) â€œChristmas Cheer Quilt Blocks,â€ you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

“Christmas Cheer” is the name of the quilt pattern, that you can earn, if you complete the Quilt Dash game for November!

There’s two beautiful quilt blocks that make up the “Christmas Cheer” quilt!

Enjoy some “Christmas Cheer” with holiday red and white peppermint! This quilt is made with two â€œsweetâ€ blocks. One block is pieced with an on-point pinwheel using red and white stripe and the other block has an appliquÃ© peppermint candy cane. The pattern is easy to adjust to make a table runner, table topper, wall hanging, lap quilt or a full size bed quilt.

Great for the holidays for a no calorie treat! 🙂

Both of the blocks are 10 1/2″ finished & 11″ unfinished.

Unfortunately, we’ve had a couple of wet & chilly days here in south central Texas. Days where you just want to hunker down with a good book & wrap yourself up in a well-worn quilt for a quilty hug!

That’s what this month’s Quilt Dash’s free pattern is all about, “Summer Blues” is the name of it & I’m really sorry to see summer go. 🙁

This is one of those one-block quilt’s. You know the kind that I’m talking about, don’t you? You’ll need to make TWELVE (12) of the same block to make this beautiful quilt. I love these kinds of quilts because I can chain piece them so they sew together rather quickly!

“Summer Winds Quilt Block”

This is the one-block quilt that comprises the entirety of the “Summer Blues” free quilt pattern! It’s really quite simple to make, as long as you’re not afraid of making Half-Square triangles and Flying Geese! Then again, it *is* October, so you can be a skeerdy cat, if you wanna be! 🙂

“Fall Splendor”

Fall’s a’comin & there’s no stopping it!
Are you ready for it? If not, let me entice you, just a little bit 🙂These are just four of the blocks that make up the “Fall Splendor” quilt pattern that’s available to Quilt Dash member’s who complete the September Quilt Dash!

Enjoy the fall season with the colorful oranges, reds and yellow leave’s of the season with this “Fall Splendor” quilt pattern. The appliquÃ©d leaves can be made with your scraps to make a colorful and scrappy quilt! Or use your precut fabrics so your leaves match!

You can easily adjust this quilt to a smaller or larger size by increasing or decreasing the number of blocks and/or rows.
