Light Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 2 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Nine-Patch. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
Pink: Cut FIVE (5) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Pink 2 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Nine-Patch. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 1/4â€³ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Pink 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Pink 3 1/4â€³ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)

Carson City Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (scant 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Green 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Red: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Youâ€™ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 3 3/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
Red: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Youâ€™ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Green
5 1/4″ square & with the results of the White 5 1/4″square. Which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)

Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Youâ€™ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the results of the White 8 7/8″ square as needed for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut ONE (1) 8 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Youâ€™ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This is the upper left-hand corner of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the White 4 7/8″ square.)

Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
Lt. Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 3 1/2″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the results of the White
2 3/8″ squares. Which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners as needed for this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut TWENTY (20) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch blocks. They’ll also help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Blue: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the White 2 3/8″ squares & will help create the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patch blocks. They’ll also help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These squares are to be used with the Light Blue 3 1/2″ squares to make the Snowball Corners.)
