Corn & Beans Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 5″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (This is paired with the Green 5″ square, which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 5″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut ONE (1) 5″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (This is paired with the Yellow 5″ square, which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Green 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank on TWO (2) sides the results of the Yellow 5″ square & on the other TWO (2) sides the results of the Green 5″ square, as needed for this quilt block.
- White: Cut TWO (2) 5″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of the Yellow 3″ squares. They will also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
