Quilted Kitchen: Arrowhead Quilt Block & Arrowhead Chips Recipe

Arrowhead Quilt Block Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at www.QuiltTherapy.com!

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Maroon: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the White 2 3/4″ squares to create a Four-Patch, which will also be the center, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Maroon: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Maroon: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank ONE (1) end of the Maroon
    2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Maroon: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will be flanked by the Maroon 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Maroon 2 3/4″ squares to create a Four-Patch, which will also be the center, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips. (These will flank the results of the Maroon 7 1/4″ square to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank ONE (1) end of the Maroon
    2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will be flanked by the Maroon 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips to create TWO (2) of the Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 3″ square. (This will be flanked, on all FOUR (4) sides by the Pink 3″ square, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. (These will flank the Yellow 3″ square, and they will also flank FOUR (4) of the Red 3″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) Red 3″ squares. (These will flank the FOUR (4) Pink 3″ squares, and they will also flank the Light Blue 3″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Light Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. (These will be flanked on one side by the Red 3″ squares, and by the Light Blue 3″ x 5 1/2″ strips, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Light Blue: Cut FOUR (4) Red 3″ squares. (These will be flanked, on both sides, by the Light Blue 3″ x 5 1/2″ strips, as needed for this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 2 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Light Blue 4 1/4″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Light Blue: Cut ONE (1) 7″ square. (This will be flanked, on all FOUR (4) sides, by the results of the White 2 1/2″ squares and will also be the center of this quilt block.)
  • Light Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 2 1/2″ squares, and will also be the FOUR (4) corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Light Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Blue 2 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWELVE (12) 2 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 2″ squares, as well as the results of the Blue 2 1/2″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These will flank the Maroon 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips on TWO (2) sides, and the Maroon 2 1/2″ squares on the remaining TWO (2) sides, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Maroon 2 7/8″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut TWO 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Maroon 3 3/8″ square, which will create a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Maroon 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Maroon: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (These will be flanked by the results of the Yellow 2 7/8″ squares, and will create a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
