“Harry Loves Alice” has Launched!

Quilt Therapy Posted on January 24, 2019 by TK HarrisonJanuary 20, 2019

Alien Riding a Rocket

The first installment of “Harry Loves Alice” was posted this week!

“Harry Loves Alice” 2019 Block of the Month Quilt. An Original Design by
TK Harrison, Owner of BOMquilts.com
Come sew some fun with us throughout 2019 with another adorable fabric collection that brings out the best in quilty love!

I hope you’ll be joining me in making this lovely, eye-candy lap quilt! It consists of 11 installments, including the fabric requirements, nine quilt blocks and the finishing instructions.

It’s sponsored by the bestest woman 🤗 with the biggest heart ❤️ that I’ve met over the years. OH, did I forget to mention that she happens to have an online quilt shop, and a brick & mortar one too? 😳

Abbi May's Fabric Shop ~ Always Open at https://abbimays.comLinda has been sponsoring my block of the month quilts (along with many other quilts and quilt projects) since 2006!!! ☺️

In fact, I helped Linda launch her first online website. There’s a reason my kids called me the “Quilt Designing Computer Geek!” Prior to that, she was selling her quilt fabric on eBay. For the first year, she continued to sell her fabric on eBay, as well as on her new Abbimays.com website. By the end of that first year, she was able to transition all of her eBay customers to her new website and close down her eBay account. Within five years, she’d outgrown the shopping cart that I’d set up for her so she’s since moved on to bigger and better. But she’s continued to send me luscious, luxurious, eye-candy quilt fabric. Oh me, oh my, do I love what she’s done in filling up my baskets in my quilt studio! ☺️

Introducing “Harry Loves Alice”

Quilt Therapy Posted on January 10, 2019 by TK HarrisonJanuary 9, 2019

“Harry Loves Alice” 2019 Free BOM Quilt Pattern designed by TK Harrison from BOMquilts.com“Harry Loves Alice” 2019 Block of the Month Quilt.
An Original Design by TK Harrison, Owner of BOMquilts.com

When I first laid my eyes on this eye candy fabric, the first thing that came to my mind was the movie Harry Loves Sally. Then when I got my hot little quilter’s fingers on the fabric, my design just materialized from out of nowhere. Well it came from somewhere, but I let the fabric do the talking for me and the quilt image shown above is what I came up with.

Abbi May’s Fabric Shop has been sponsoring my BOM quilts, and many other quilts that I design, since 2006. Please show Linda some love by purchasing the “Harry Loves Alice” quilt kit from her.

Abbi May's Fabric Shop ~ Always Open at https://abbimays.comThis is the new (and did I mention free?) 2019 block of the month (BOM) quilt for my sister-site, BOMquilts.com. The fabrics are bold and bright, fun and festive and even a little bit romantic, too! It’s an 11-part BOM quilt with one block pattern instruction revealed on the 20th of each month. If you follow along each month, you will have a quilt finished by Christmas next year! Woo Hoo!

The fabric requirements will be posted on January 20, 2019. There are nine blocks that compromise the quilt top, then the finishing instructions. Goodness, I don’t need to type all of this out! Head on over to my sister-site and read it for yourself. Or better yet, if you haven’t ‘liked’ us on Facebook yet, fell free to do so as I always post there when I update the patterns.

PS: I can’t guarantee that you’ll have the same…ummm…reaction that Meg Ryan did in the diner, but I can’t promise you…won’t…either!

The Good Time Quilters of Blind Bay are Sewing it up Again!

Quilt Therapy Posted on December 27, 2018 by TK HarrisonDecember 25, 2018

Remember the Good Time Quilters of Blind Bay (GTQ of Blind Bay)? They’re sewing my 2006 BOM “Cinnamon-teen Chocolate Figs & Roses“ quilt from my sister site, BOMquilts.com!

Cinnamon-teen Chocolate Figs & Roses 2006 BOM Quilt from BOMQuilts.com. An original sampler design of 16-patch squares made with a touch of cinnamon with chocolate, figs & roses – sure to be a delectable delight!

They are now three months into making their quilt blocks and, my oh my, I think they’re having way too much fun! Is that a thing? Having too much fun? Naw, not for quilters, anyway! 🙂

Here are some photos of the quilt blocks that Mandy S. sent to me of her own quilt blocks. She is making them from a batik layer cake that she had in her stash:

The photo below is of some of the members of the GTQ of Blind Bay with three month’s worth of their “Cinnamon-teen Chocolate Figs & Roses“ quilt blocks:

I wonder, though, whatever are the GTQ of Blind Bay going to do for space when they continue adding quilt blocks to that stage? I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to seeing how the photo (and quilts) evolve!
