Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Dark Green: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Dark Green: Cut SIX (6) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Gray: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.

  • Yellow: Cut FIVE (5) 3 1/4″ squares.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Brown: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square.
  • Brown: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Dark Green: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. (This will be paired with the first Green 2 3/4″ square to create a half-square triangle.)
  • Dark Green: Cut FIVE (5) 2 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut THREE (3) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strip.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Brown 2 3/4″ squares to create half-square triangles. You only need THREE (3) half-square triangles for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the remaining Green 2 3/4″ squares to create a half-square triangles.)
  • White: Cut FIVE (5) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the remaining Dark Green 2 3/4″ squares to create a half-square triangles.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

(Editor’s note: This is a scrappy quilt block, so just choose whatever scraps you want to use, and cut your bits and pieces out of them, so you end up with the quilt block shown above.)

  • Red: Cut FIVE (5) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles.
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. On the back side of the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (You will only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block.)
  • Turquoise: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. On the back side of the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Turquoise: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (You will only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. On the back side of the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (You will only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. On the back side of the square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles. (You will only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Red, Turquoise, Green and Purple 2 3/4″ squares to create half-square triangles. You will only need ONE (1) half square triangle from each of the colors to make this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 6 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles.
