Double X Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Salmon: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2 7/8″ squares which will create TWELVE (12) Half=Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Salmon: Cut FOUR (4) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
Lt. Blue: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Salmon 2 7/8″ squares which will create TWELVE (12) Half=Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Lt. Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
Lt. Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue/Salmon Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles will flank the Lt. Blue 4 1/2″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block as needed when it’s sewn together.)

Lt. Gold: Cut TWO (2) 7 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the Gold 2″ squares. They’re also flanked by the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
Gold: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Gold 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles, which will create SIXTEEN (16) Snowball Corners, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
Gold: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Gold 2″ squares, which will create SIXTEEN (16) Snowball Corners, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the Gold 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. Then they’ll flank the results of the Lt. Gold 7 1/4″ squares. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)

Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Red 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’ll also create the center of this quilt block when sewn together.)
Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the White 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block when it’s sewn together.)
Red: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Pink 3 1/2″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’ll also create the center of this quilt block when sewn together.)
