Eight Pointed Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Light Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Light Yellow 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by results of the Light Yellow 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) additional Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This will be the center of this quilt block.)
- Light Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will be the four corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Light Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Light Blue 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by results of the Light Blue 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) additional Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
