Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This will be flanked on TWO (2) sides by the White 2″ x
3 1/2″ rectangle & the other TWO (2) sides by the White 2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. It will also be the center of this quilt block.) - Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These will flank the left & right of the Yellow
3 1/2″ square, which will partially “frame” the center of this quilt block.) - White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These will flank the top & bottom of the Yellow
3 1/2″ square, which will partially “frame” the center of this quilt block.) - White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Yellow 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Star of Bethlehem Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
