Grandmother’s Cross Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Magenta: Cut TEN (10) 3 3/8″ squares. (These will be flanked by the results of the White
2 3/8″ squares which will create TEN (10) Square in a Square’s.) - White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the center of the top & bottom of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWENTY (20) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Magenta 3 3/8″ squares which will create TEN (10) Square in a Square’s.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangles. (These will be the left-hand & right-hand sides of this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Grandmother’s Cross Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
