Star Power: Meadow Star Quilt Block & Meadow Star Variation Quilt Block

Meadow Star Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Meadow Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut TWELVE (12) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patches. Once they’re sewn together they’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White
    2 3/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Green/White Flying Geese. They’re also paired with the White/Green Flying Geese.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWENTY-FOUR (24) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. Once they’re sewn together they’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ square. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Green 2 3/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Purple: Cut TWELVE (12) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Nine-Patches. Once they’re sewn together they’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)

  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White
    2 3/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Purple/White Flying Geese. They’re also paired with the White/Purple Flying Geese.)
  • White: Cut TWENTY-FOUR (24) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 2″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. Once they’re sewn together they’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ square. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ square. (2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Purple 2 5/8″ square in the center of this quilt block. They’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Purple
    2 3/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
