Squash Blossom Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are paired with the Yellow 5 1/4″ square, which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides, by the results of the Yellow 3″ squares.)
- Yellow:Â Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles.)
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are paired with the results of the Green 5 1/4″ square, which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These will flank on ONE (1) side the White 2 1/2″ x
4 1/2″ rectangles, on ONE (1) other side they will flank the results of the White 3″ square & on ONE (1) other side they will flank the results of the Yellow 3″ square.) - White: Cut (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Yellow 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the Yellow 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)

If you make TWELVE (12) Squash Blossom Quilt Blocks, you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

I love your patterns and especially appreciate the full quilt diagrams because the secondary patterns appear. However, some of the patterns do not include the full quilt diagrams. Will they ever be added to the free patterns? It really helps if I can visualize how the final project should look. Thank you.
