Squash Blossom Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are paired with the Yellow 5 1/4″ square, which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides, by the results of the Yellow 3″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These are paired with the results of the Green 5 1/4″ square, which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These will flank on ONE (1) side the White 2 1/2″ x
4 1/2″ rectangles, on ONE (1) other side they’ll flank the results of the White 3″ square & on ONE (1) other side the results of the Yellow 3″ square. All are needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Yellow 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the Yellow 3″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Squash Blossom Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.

I love your patterns and especially appreciate the full quilt diagrams because the secondary patterns appear. However, some of the patterns do not include the full quilt diagrams. Will they ever be added to the free patterns? It really helps if I can visualize how the final project should look. Thank you.
